Morning:drive along the Chengdu-Ya’an Expressway through the Western Sichuan Plain and up the Dadu River Valley. Pass through Luding County (a red tourism city) to reach Kangding Town, marking the entry into the Tibetan cultural region. 

Afternoon:Continue to Cross over (cross) Zhedo Mountain Pass (the first high mountain on G318) for photos. Pass through Xinduqiao (3,300m), known as the "Photographer’s Corridor," a poetic paradise. Visit Yuzixi for 360° panoramic views of the Hengduan Mountains and swing facing Gongga Snow Mountain.

Morning:Drive through snowy peaks to Tagong Grassland, where the Muya Golden Pagoda and Yala Snow Mountain reflect each other. Explore the alien-like Moshi Park, a surreal inkstone geological landscape perfect for photos. 

Afternoon:Arrive inthe "Sky City"  Litang.Visit Letong Ancient Town (Renkang Ancient Street), named after the birthplace of the 7th Dalai Lama, Renkang Ancient House.

Morning:En route, admire Mao Ya Prairie and stop at the iconic Sister Lakes (Twin Glacial Lakes). Enter Cuopu Valley: taste hot spring-boiled eggs at the entrance, experience "fish calling" at sacred Cuopu Lake, and photograph Zhajinjiabo Snow Mountain reflected in the water. Drone users can capture the turquoise twin lakes in the forest.

Morning:Cross the Jinsha River Bridge and the Sichuan-Tibet Border Crossing into Tibet. First stop: Mangkang County (3,780m), where the Jinsha, Lancang, and Nujiang Rivers run parallel. 

Afternoon:Overcome Dongda Mountain Pass (5,008m) and stay in Zuo’gong County, marking the midpoint of the G318 Sichuan-Tibet route. Rest and prepare for the Tibetan journey ahead.

Morning:Pass through Bangda Grassland and cross Yela Mountain to reach the famous Nujiang River 72 Turns. View the Nujiang Grand Canyon and pass through Basu County ("Village at the Foot of Warrior Mountain").

Afternoon: Visit Rawu Lake, a young landslide lake with crystal-clear waters and snow mountain reflections. Stay near the lake.

Morning:Revisit Rawu Lake and its sister Amucuo Lake, a winding valley with rocky islets. Head to Gangyun Spruce Forest for a traditional Tibetan "Linka" picnic (outdoor leisure in a forest).

Morning:Cross Sejila Mountain Pass and visit Basongcuo Lake ("Green Water"), a paradise combining snow mountains, lakes, forests, and temples. Drive along the scenic Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway (G318), following the Niyang River and passing through the Mila Mountain Tunnel.

Begin at Tsepak Lhakhang (Zhaqi Temple), Tibet’s only temple dedicated to wealth deities. As a branch of Sera Monastery (Gelug school), it attracts both Tibetan and Han devotees who bring white liquor and khata scarves as offerings.

Explore Norbulingka, the “Summer Palace of Lhasa.” This UNESCO-listed Tibetan-style garden—the largest and most exquisite in Tibet—blends palaces, ceremonial courtyards, and ancient forests. Strolling through its three zones feels like navigating a meticulously crafted immersive RPG game map.

Afternoon:

Visit Sera Monastery, one of the Six Great Monasteries of the Gelug School. For centuries, it has been a hub for Buddhist philosophy. Witness the famed monastic debates (daily except weekends): monks in crimson robes clap, stomp, and engage in lively dialectics, their gestures echoing the collision of faith and intellect.
