Ride northeast along National Highway G318 through the primitive forests of Gyirong Valley, and cross the Kongtanglam Mountain Pass (5,236m altitude), a section with dense switchbacks requiring careful speed control. At the pass, enjoy distant views of the Shishapangma Peak cluster. En route, encounter Tibetan wild ass herds on the southern shore of Peiku Tso. Arrive in Old Tingri in the evening. On clear days, catch glimpses of Mount Everest (8,844m) and Cho Oyu (8,201m).

Today, navigate the "108 Turns" switchback road and pass through Gyawu La Pass (5,198m altitude), the world’s only viewpoint where you can simultaneously see five 8,000m+ peaks: Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma. Arrive at Everest Base Camp (5,200m altitude). Capture the golden sunset over Mount Everest in the evening and stay overnight in a tent lodge.
