🚶 A Pilgrim’s Heart: Reflections on the Kora of Mount Kailash 🗻

Walking the Kora of Mount Kailash is to let the earth rewrite your soul. From the first glimpse of its snow-capped peak piercing cobalt skies, the mountain doesn’t just exist—it **calls**, a magnet for seekers. Every step weaves purpose into the trail.
The path starts as gravel whispers underfoot, hardening into a test of breath and resolve at 18,000 feet. Here, fatigue births clarity. Pilgrims press bodies to the earth in prostration, their faith a wordless mirror reflecting my own search: for meaning, stillness, connection.
At Lake Manasarovar, the world softens. Ice-blue waters mirror Kailash, while prayer flags flutter like lullabies, colors dissolving into wind. Time frays. I touch frigid water, and the divide between pilgrim and sacred melts. The mountain is not a destination but a teacher, etching lessons in aching muscles, quiet minds, and the humility of standing small before eternity.
On descent, legs tremble, heart soars. The Kora doesn’t give answers—it sparks tender, fierce questions about walking in reverence. Perhaps pilgrimage isn’t about summits but letting the journey split you open, allowing light to seep in. Kailash doesn’t need devotion; it grants grace to remember: in seeking, we are found.
