After breakfast, we take a vehicle to reach today's hiking starting point: Rebuk Village. Following a warm-up led by our Sherpa guide, we begin the trek. Starting from Rebuk Village, we ascend along a river valley until we reach Xiaowu Tso Camp beneath Xiaowula Pass

The journey includes approximately three significant ascents and takes about 6 hours in total. Xiaowu Tso is an alpine lake below Xiaowula Pass—on clear days, it offers views of Makalu and Chomo Lonzo peaks.

  • Travel Duration: 8
  • Accomodation: Wilderness Camp at Zhuoxiang
  • Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek Stats:13km | 7–8 hours | 250m ascent, 1,000m descent

Early in the morning, if the weather is clear, we’ll witness the golden sunrise over Makalu (the world’s 5th highest peak) and Chomo Lonzo, along with their reflections in Xiaowu Tso Lake! This is the best spot in the entire journey (and within China) to view Makalu. When the first rays of sunlight touch Makalu's summit, you’ll encounter a beauty like no other—one you’ve never seen before.

After breakfast, we depart at 9:30 to traverse Xiaowula Pass, then descend all the way through Xueruo Valley to reach Zhuoxiang Camp at the valley’s end. From the pass, gaze at Makalu and the lower Gama Valley—the vertical drop between the snowy peaks and the valley floor is nearly 5,000 meters. Xueruo Valley is lush with vegetation, a striking contrast to the high-altitude terrain.

  • Distance: About14km

  • Accomodation: Tangshang Viewpoint Camp

Trek Stats: 14km | 6–8 hours | 650m ascent

After breakfast, we set off and begin our mountain traverse. This ascent takes place primarily within a primeval forest, and at the end of the forest, the mountain ridge offers a perfect vantage point to overlook the Gama Valley. We then trek through Himalayan alpine meadows, ascending and descending continuously, passing Mibi Pasture, Cuolang Lake, Tasong Pasture, and Xianong Pasture

After crossing a steep slope, we descend to reach today’s campsite: Tangshang Camp. This is a rare panoramic viewing platform on our trek. On clear days, you can simultaneously view a series of snow-capped peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Chomo Lonzo, and Tolagangboqe—making it one of the best spots for photographing a full snow mountain panorama.

  • Accomodation: Wilderness Camp at Egar
  • Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek Stats:13km | 6–7 hours | 200m descent, 320m ascent

Tangshang Camp is one of the prime photography spots on this trek, where we can see Everest, Lhotse, and Chomo Lonzo (Makalu’s satellite peak) all at once. Wake up early to await the snow mountain sunrise!

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Egar at 9:30 AM. First, we descend to the bottom of karma Valley. After crossing the small bridge at the camp, there’s a slight ascent, leading us to Badang Camp. Continuing forward, we’ll need to climb steeply and traverse a large landslide zone—this area has frequent rockfalls, so pass in single file and stay alert for safety. After navigating the landslide, several more traverses will bring us to a vast grassland, where our campsite for the night,

  • Accomodation: Egar Camp
  • Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Trek Stats: 11km | 8-10 hours | 420m descent, 300m ascent

Early in the morning, we set out from Egar. The path to Baidang follows two mountain ridges extending upward from Egar: the trail lies on the right mountain, but the left ridge is also accessible. It’s recommended to ascend via the left ridge for better photography angles, then descend via the right mountain on the return.

Baidang is a vast pasture—on clear days, the massive faces of Everest and Lhotse rise at its far end, with Chomo Lonzo opposite across the valley, making it one of the prime spots to photograph snow-capped peaks.

Members can choose whether to visit the East Base Camp:

 - Those opting out can stay at Egar to photograph and start later.

 - Those planning to go to Everest East Base Camp must depart early after capturing Egar’s sunrise (a 6-hour journey one-way), then return to Baidang Camp.

Today’s mandatory cut-off time: All must descend and return to Baidang Camp by 2 PM sharp—no exceptions, as Himalayan weather can change rapidly.

An early-morning snowy mountain feast awaits us, along with views of massive glacial relics. After continuous ascents and traverses, we cross the mountain ridge into a valley on the right side of the recently degraded glacier. Upon crossing, a vast rocky debris field stretches at the valley’s center, with Tolagangboqe Snow Mountain towering directly ahead.

In the evening, we arrive at today’s Tsho Rolpa —a prime spot for photographing the reflections of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Chomo Lonzo in the lake’s waters.
